This policy describes the data handling that is visible in this site's own code. It covers this site only; retailers, manufacturers, and social platforms you reach through outbound links publish their own policies.

What the site collects

Reading the site is open without an account, a newsletter subscription, or a payment. The hosting provider processes standard request data, such as the requested URL, browser type, and approximate region, to serve and protect the site.

The site publishes no comment form, so no commenter's name, email address, or message is collected. If a comment form is enabled later, this policy will be updated before it is used.

Analytics

On production pages the site loads the Auspia analytics script fromanalytics.auspia.io with the site identifierb78aaf2b-7812-43c4-aab9-2aeaf8f13be8. It records aggregate page views and referrers for this site.

The site also loads Google Analytics 4 (propertyG-0EG6BPW02F) through the gtag.js snippet. Google Analytics may set cookies and collect usage data under Google's own privacy terms. You can block the script with a content blocker or browser setting, and Google publishes an opt-out browser add-on for Analytics.

Cookies

• Theme preference: the current build uses a fixed light theme and does not set a theme cookie. The theme switcher is hidden, and a theme cookie left by an earlier version is not read while the theme is fixed.
• Analytics: cookies set by Google Analytics, as described above. The Auspia analytics script is loaded on production pages; any storage it uses is controlled by that provider.
• Retailer cookies: if you follow a link to a retailer such as Amazon, that retailer may set its own cookies on its own domain. Those cookies stay on the retailer's domain.

You can clear or block cookies in your browser. Blocking analytics cookies does not prevent you from reading the site.

Retailer links

Some outbound links go to retailer search or product pages, including Amazon. Direct Amazon links written in this site's own pages do not carry the inherited reference publisher tag. Shortened retailer links that remain on the site have not been expanded, and the destination parameters they pass on are not verified. Retailers reached through these links control their own terms, cookies, and onward redirects.

The site creates no reader accounts, so no account record is held here. Thecontact page lists the details a correction should include, and the about page describes the site's coverage.

Changes
